Jinabo’s story – from an electrical engineer to a metal working professional
Jinabo moved to Finland in 2008 from Cameroon. He has studied Finnish language and culture in the Finnish integration program before starting an electrical and automation engineering school. Due to work scarcity, he later upgraded and studied metalworks and machinery and graduated as a plater-welder. We asked Jinabo how he is enjoying his new working life.
Job search assistance form Biisoni
“After my graduation I was searching for different metal working jobs. I walked to Biisoni Pohjanmaa’s office and met there with Mervi. I am forever thankful to Mervi and Biisoni for helping me to find my current job. Mervi was really kind and helpful and saw the possibilities in me. She worked fast and was able to get me to an interview only one or two days later we had met. I am currently working with Biisoni on a full time and permanent lease. I am Biisoni’s worker but I get to do my actual job at Arnon. I think this system works very well.”
Dream job as a metal working professional
“I started to work at Arnon in December 2021, and I could not be happier. Here in Arnon, I work in various assembling workstations that includes mechanical assembling, fittings, and wiring. The work is interesting because we rotate the tasks from cabinets cut-outs to punching of the holes and wiring of assorted switchgears and various control panels for marine and industrial applications. I get to experience the whole production line of these products and use my best abilities and education to do better every day. I appreciate that the people here are amazing, treat each other equally, the salary is good, and the working time is flexible.”
